I can't tell you how many accidents I have seen in this area. People and pets have died for years due to speeding cars.

There needs to be more EDUCATION in this area. The road is wide and with side streets on only the west side, it encourages speeding. Posted mph for school is different than what is posted on New Britain Ave which is confusing. Plus, speed limit in Newington is 10 mph higher than it is in Hartford and that is NOT clearly indicated. This is a recipe for disaster. Traffic calming measures NEED to be taken on this road. Perhaps starting with an electronic "Your Speed" sign that measures each car's mph might be a step in the right direction.

Now teenagers are riding ATVs on the sidewalk and into streets near Batchelder School, which is dangerous for pedestrians and drivers alike.

Many Behind the Rocks residents have signed petitions for action to be taken to protect residents from dangerous speeding and difficult intersections.
