I find Code Enforcement's explanation bazaar. It seems to me an issue is opened by a citizen who is reporting a problem. Should not an issue be left open until it is ADDRESSED and then RESOLVED? We want OPEN GOVERNMENT, not explanations that confuse and distract from what should be a cooperative relationship between government and its citizens. Democracy's worst enemy is an uniformed public!

Thank you for your comment. To clarify, this particular case has been forwarded to the Building Division because the property has a current building permit. The issue is marked "closed" in SeeClickFix to remove the issue from our SeeClickFix queue so that we may address other issues. The case itself, however, remains open and active with the responsible department/office (i.e. the Building Division) to address until fully resolved. In addition, the Building Division is currently not on SeeClickFix, so they do not receive notifications and therefore cannot address any concerns or comments on this website. Just saying the issue remains open does not connect the public to the responsible entity. Shouldn't you refer the reporter to the Building Division by providing their contact information so concerned parties may know where to get more information directly? It's shouldn't be a matter of protecting against embarrassment or the property owner's privacy. The public needs to know there is a HAZARD TO PUBLIC SAFETY being reported and who and how will correct the problem.
