Look at it. The cause of the problem appears to be patch jobs. Layers and layers of cheap patch jobs instead of repaving the road properly.

Careful what you wish for. They "repaved" my street a couple years ago -- just laid a few inches of tarmac on top of the original cracked, broken, and unrepaired road bed. Looked real nice at first. And now.. new cracks are forming all over, along the same lines as the old ones.

Repair means more than repave!

True. Good point, my friend.

I don’t know if it’s due to the quality of the materials or the skills of the labor used but their repairs don’t last long either. Almost the entire city needs needs repaving and most sidewalks/curbs need to be replaced or installing. Vallejo could benefit from those jobs as well.

Thank you for reporting this issue! Public Works Engineering is aware of the problems on Sutter Street. I have added Sutter St to the list of streets that have a need for a full roadway repair. This list will be prioritized based on the severity of damage, cost to repair, and other factors. The City of Vallejo will do its best to accommodate all public needs but we ask for your patience as we are limited by funding.
