  • 1685-1699 Ferry Pt Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
Cars often drive on the bike lanes that leads to the Seaplane Ferry Terminal. There is no barrier to entry or signage that indicates only bikes are allowed near the intersection of Ferry Point and W. Atlantic Ave between the public restrooms and abandoned building. They are also able to easily drive over the wheel stops along Ferry Point.
  • 9th St & Lincoln Ave Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
Since moving into the area 6 years ago, I have been present for 5 accidents at this corner, two of which have been motorcycles. One injury was a fractured clavicle and, most recently, the fatal accident. At this time, there have been 3 accidents at this corner since Feb 11, 2024.
The many 'fender benders' that occur are at speeds that send one vehicle spinning, often to the tree on the west side of the road, putting pedestrians and property at further risk. If something is not done soon, undoubtedly, there will be another fatality.
This corridor is in need of IMMEDIATE attention!
I would like a 4-way stop to be installed and enhanced overhead street lighting for night crossing. This can be done quickly while waiting for the city to work on their Lincoln Ave enhancements.
  • 1648-1706 Ferry Pt Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda

Another entire Sunday of non-stop (~10am to late night) speeding and screeching around Alameda Point, pummeling residents with unbearable exhaust noise and smell. How is it possible that there is ZERO enforcement from APD? These shows literally last all day; there's no way they don't have time to pop over there AT SOME POINT in the day. Come on.

The attached photos show the smoke plumes filling the air from donuts. I wish y'all could hear it too.

I know we're not supposed to propose solutions, but since APD doesn't care to enforce this, the city needs to install bollards to make it impossible to do donuts here. PLEASE.

  • Lincoln Ave & 6th St Alameda, California, 94501 - Alameda
Constant excessive speeding from Webster to Main Street in both directions. Speeds routinely from 45 to 60 miles an hour, extremely dangerous for pedestrians trying to cross Lincoln at 6th in marked crosswalk as well as residents pulling in and out of driveways
  • 2715 Encinal Ave Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
The intersection of Versailles and Encinal is the only 4-way stop to enable North-South vehicle traffic to cross Encinal between Broadway and High, both of which are congested. Since the designation of Versailles as a Slow Street, the intersection can't be used, which definitely increases the difficulty and maybe danger of driving across Encinal.
While the section of Versailles North of Lincoln makes sense as a slow street, the section South of Santa Clara makes none. If you want to keep a slow street in the area, make it Mound, which also has the advantage of running past Otis Elementary.
And please make up your mind: are slow streets temporary or permanent? If temporary, when does the designation sunset? If permanent, bar and sign them properly.
  • San Francisco Bay Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
Underneath the pedestrian/bicycle bridge adjacent to the Bay Farm Island Bridge, there is a homeless encampment on the Bay Trail.
  • W Atlantic Ave & Corsair St Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
I've had two near misses in the last week or so involving high speed cars using the bus lanes as passing lanes to bypass traffic going at normal speeds. These cars often rapidly swerve around cars that are slowing down to stop for pedestrian traffic. This is an extremely dangerous area to be a pedestrian. Is the city going to do anything or are we waiting for someone to die?
  • Jean Sweeney Open Space Park - West Gate 1900 Thau Way, Alameda, CA 94501, USA - Alameda
there is a *new* encampment at the west gate of Jean Sweeney Open Space Park. they have an outside fire and you can smell the smoke in nearby housing. I thought something was on fire until I went for a walk and saw this.
  • Broadway & La Jolla Dr Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda

I am a resident on this stretch and see cars driving at wildly high speeds at all hours (sometimes inexplicably accelerating / drag racing) down this short stretch of road with high pedestrian and bike density due to the mixed residential zoning. This area has folks of all ages including our most vulnerable, including babies in strollers, young children and the elderly.

The city needs to urgently install speed bumps to control speeds the same way Bayview has speed bumps. Cars do not need the flexibility to go 30+ mph on this stretch of road. The same frankly applies to all of Broadway and Shoreline Dr, which have similar pedestrian density.

  • Chapin St & Pacific Ave Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
Need stop sign a corner of Chapin and Pacific. Drivers turn off Lincoln to go down to Buena Vista and speed down this street. Cars go very fast. There are many 4 elementary age children (from 3 different homes) who walk to school who live on this street. It is very dangerous to have cars go fast at an intersection with a designated slow street/biking street.
  • Bay St & Lincoln Ave Alameda, California, 94501 - Alameda
I moved to Lincoln and Bay st from a different part of West Alameda about 6 months ago and since I’ve been here there have been quite a few accidents. I’d say at least 5. We typically hear screeching then a loud thud, it is very alarming that nothing is being done yet. The worst time was when a pedestrian was hit and flew about 5 feet in the air from a cross walk. Upon the ambulance and fire department coming , the fireman told me that I really should contact to city to see if there are any plans for this area ? because peoplee tend to speed down the street since there are no stop signs or lights for a while. This is simply an unsafe area and it is concerning how many accidents there are in the same location. Many neighbors like to frequent Island savoy market etc and support the local businesses here but can not cross the street in fear they will be injured, I myself have been almost hit quite a few times and have seen kids almost get hit daily, Please let me know if , what there’s anything I can do ?
  • 1206 Oak St Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
The city makes so many changes regarding parking and reducing lanes. Which in my opinion hurts Alameda. Park St. is ruined. How about making Oak St., Willow and Walnut one way streets from Encinal to Lincoln. That would be helpful.
