Description

There are no sidewalks on this stretch of Waite Street used by children, dog owners, and athletes going to Bassett Park and the dog park. Also the sidewalks along Bassett Park have no curb, which encourages baseball players to park in a CLEARLY marked no parking area, forcing pedestrians- again, many of whom are children- to walk in the middle of Waite Street.

I'm amazed at how little sidewalk there is generally in Hamden. It's a pedestrian nightmare.

It's a shame you closed the issue. You made a good point. Hamden certainly lacks in sidewalks, particularly in some of the nicest places to walk or jog. Also, keep in mind, the Mayor is currently prioritizing sidewalks to repair, you might consider getting in touch with him to see if this can be given a higher priority.

I would love to see a sidewalk on Waite street - it's such a pretty outdoor space. I heard at one time there was a proposal to make traffic one-way and the other direction could be pedestrian. That would be terrific.
