Where do we make complaints about the noise?

Oceana has a community concerns hotline, (757)-433-2162, where you can leave specific complaints about operations, including time and location and your contact information. Or you can send an email to OceanaComments@navy.mil. But the base's website notes that complaints won't alter flight patterns or change the hours of operation.

I actually have the number for the NAS Oceana flight tower and surprisingly enough have spoke with traffic controllers about my concerns. They were very polite and sympathetic to my concerns but had no idea who or what city department was responsible for monitoring noise levels. One one late night occasion they gave me the personal number of the base commander who was obviously anoid that I had his personal number.

Though I thank you for your reply, the links you provided do not answer my questions. Who is resolved for monitoring military jet noise over virginia Beach nieghborhoods. I see plenty of information on who to contact about civilian jet noise and impact studies on humans and wildlife but no information on how to determine the allowable amount of military jet noise to citizens effected or who is responsible for recording, monitoring and enforcing such guidelines. I guarantee you that if tourism at the virginia Beach oceanfront was negativity impacted, virginia Beach city council would know who to contact. I find it funny that I never see or hear jets flying over Atlantic Ave even though it stands between Nas Oceana and the ocean nor do I see or hear jets over expensive neighborhoods at the North end, croatan, sandbridge or further inland at Town center. Makes me think there is now or has been in the past some type of collusion between the city and the Navy on jet flight paths.
