The house that was on this property was bought and razed because this is in a flood zone. There are rats in and around the adjacent creek and when it rains this property is very muddy. Because of flooding the effluent that this ground absorbs may also contain ecoli and other unhealthy material. In light of the foregoing, it is not worth drawing attention to as a park and I rarely ever see anybody engaged in any activity on it for good reason.

This request for improvements to Garden Lane Park was made on behalf of a number of Garden Lane neighbors, including those who live immediately adjacent to, and across the street from the Park. We respectfully request that this issue remain open and that the needed improvements be made.

Garden Lane Park is listed on the city website as a "City Park", number 17 on the attached map. According to the map on the website and a corresponding brochure, it is every bit as much a park as any other in dark green, including Sycamore Park and Waddell Park, both of which have proper signage. As such, the same signage found in other city parks is requested and needed. Many tax-paying residents use this park, as well as many children, who do not need to be dodging piles of dog poo as they toss a ball or play soccer, or dodging speeding vehicles as they walk to the park. The city owns this park and needs to maintain it to the same standards as similar properties.
