I couldn't agree more! It's disturbing the lack of response from the City of Seatac after all the complaints that have been filed about this place. They are out there every single day running off dirty water with who-knows-what cleaning products in them and no real safe way of disposal, just letting it run into the streets and yards. This house is zoned residential but is obviously running a nuisance business every day, violating many ordinances about the number of cars, parking on the law constantly, etc.

PS Might note that we are actively inviting all the neighbors to the November City Council meeting to talk about the City's lack of action on this problem

Looks like the city assigned this to Public Works because of the run-off issue. Will Public Works also address the parking issue, and the unlicensed business issue?

Hello Julia! I don't think so. It's been a very frustrating situation for all of the neighbors. The gentlemen running this place also frequently jockeys cars around and parks in any available open space, mostly in front of homeowners' properties. I understand that we do not own the street parking, but these cars are left for a varying amount of time. A good number of residents have started calling the PD to have them towed. It's quite a messy distraction, right off of 188th. Also, he frequently has so many cars parked there that some are partially in the street. More than once, I've almost hit one of them turning onto 33rd. It's a hazard in a number of ways and really unfair to the license, insured reputable parking lots that contribute to the city's tax revenue.

SeaTac Public Works has responded to the concern regarding water pollution. For the remaining issues, there is an open Code Compliance case.

Hmm. That seems odd because every time I've reported my issue says "resolved" within a few hours, when nothing has been resolved. This app says there is only "1" unresolved issue.

I drive down your street frequently and am aware of the problem. You certainly have good reason to complain!

Thank you, Julia. I am usually a "live and let live" kind of person but there are so many flagrant violations and health / safety concerns. I am frustrated we have to beg the city to take care of it.

They have the rental car schedule out front on a white board for the employee, he probably pays cash to them so employment taxes to our city. He lies when asked about it. The air bnb guests park up into the lawns sometimes of neighbors on the street. When you go to ask the move off the lawn they either don’t answer the door or lie about it. Police have towed 3 so far but it is annoying.

Although the City consistently ignores this problem, here's a photograph just from yesterday demonstrating the congestion and hazards this illegal business from a residential property represents. To say the City of Seatac does not help is a bold understatement. However, I do give credit to the police for coming out for violations. Too bad the city doesn't take actions so our police resources are not wasted constantly having to respond to this guy blocking traffic, driveways, polluting water and noise, etc.

Maybe the sewer department should be notified of this commercial operation so they can be charge the higher rate instead of the residential one.

Updates: I have talked to the City Manager and several of our councilmembers. The city has totally incompetent code compliance help. This guy is mostly a code compliance problem but DO keep reporting, especially all his junk cars all over the Angle Lake area. Unfortunately, we are going to have to really embarrass the city to get any help. I have a call into a couple news stations. I came down sick during December but had planned to attend a City Council meeting. If some of your want to go to one as a group, let me know and I will go around the neighborhood with flyers. I noticed (and photographed) yesterday and this morning he had cars with their "tails" hanging out into the street. The best city councilman to contact is Peter Kwon 206-498-1919. Reminder: his main violations include Seatac Municipal Code Section 15.465.500 "Home Occupations" which prohibit working on vehicles and having too many vehicles for the space, etc. The spirit of that section of the code is that a home business is allowed if it can be conducted in such manner that the residence shall not differ from its residential character in either the use of colors, materials, construction, storage, lighting, signs or emissions of sounds, noise, vibrations or odors. Also, no outside storage nor other exterior indication of the home occupation or variation from the residential character of the property exists and it does not create a level of parking demand beyond a maximum of two (2) visitors at any given time and no more than eight two-way trips per day. This is just a nutshell of his violations. Thanks for keeping this one their radar. Squeaky wheel gets the grease!

I saw that Code Compliance has moved to a study council session as of last night. I will contact Peter kwon and find out why and when the study council session will take place. We have a voice at those sessions.

Hmmm. Thanks for the update. I meant to call Peter today myself but my office has been crazy. I did an evaluation of the codes he is violating so there's more than what I included above. It's insane that they won't take action but when I talked to one of the councilmembers she told me that her greatest disappointed in the city has been the failures in their code compliance office. She said "why have laws if we aren't going to enforce them."

I just contacted Peter Kwon about why code was moved to a council study session and when it will take place. I asked what is up with code being brought up at the council meeting and moved. Why have laws? Well those 2 code employees have hijacked the process and only do what they want.

Thanks for the update, MTK. This is ridiculous! The City Manager needs to handle it, even if it means sending those two employees packing! They are being paid by the city. I still think I will go to a council meeting just to keep focus on this mess. The past week he had at least one car parked partially onto the road.

He was out there today vacuuming and cleaning cars still parking them all over the neighborhood nothing has been fixed yet.

Yes, unfortunately, the City of SeaTac is completely incompetent when it comes to Code violations. They have every excuse in the book. He still regularly has cars parked into the street, and has multiple code violations. I've forwarded much of this to the County, Water District, etc., hoping to find a governmental entity that care. It's extremely frustrating.

Why has this been acknowledged and closed by Code? Our city has gone downhill to help citizens. Who's do they work for? The union elected council members? When the next election comes up for city council in 2026 do not vote for anyone that is union funded or is liar.

MTK and All, I realize this is a ridiculous situation and the City REFUSES to do anything about it. It's past time for us to file a lawsuit against the City. I've fallen behind on following up because my job has been so hectic. How bad is it that we have to take time away from employment to address this long-standing problem because the City refuses to do so. Vote ALL of them out.
