Description

One or more people living in a tent up next to church building for a few weeks now. Have seen more traffic in that time that appears drug related. Today, an SUV stopped nearby (I have plate number if needed) and man went to back of vehicle and appeared to be mixing something. Then before he pulled away, a woman got out of vehicle and walked directly to the spot where the tent is.

This is unacceptable. Kids walk by this area. Everybody is not above or below the law. Camping out in a tent is not okay. This needs to be handled expeditiously. I own property very close to this intersection. It's a very old home that I've spent a fortune to make it nice for my tenants. I expect my taxes paid, on time, to serve my tenants needs.

The campers have also been going thru the trash cans in the Howard Street alley and making a mess, scattering trash. I am requesting more patrol cars thru our alley because of the increase of gang tagging and foot traffic.

The urban campers are still living there at Victoria park. It is a couple and the male is very verbally abusive and threatening to the female. They walk the Howard Street alley and he threatens her the entire time. The hope team and possibly officers need to intervene. They are not gone.

Thank you for doing that, HOPE Team. Haven't driven by there today to see but I am hopeful they don't return. A few cars have been loitering in the area -- in the church parking lot most mornings. They often get out and head toward the tent, so I am guessing potential drug deals, etc. Thank you again!

Just to update, the tent is gone; much of their stuff is still there. Two people in a white SUV, who often visited the tent area -- not sure if they slept their too -- still linger in the area and were sitting there with the stuff that remained. Not sure the rules about loitering, though. Not a fan of these people just hanging around.
