I drive a school bus, and the rules are the same as if you were driving a car. Bus drivers are trained each year on driving and the rules. Next time, get the bus number and call Waterford Transportation dept.
Don't waste your breath, Waterford Schools always takes the side of the driver unless they actually hit something. A few years ago I followed a driver going over 2 railroad crossings without stopping and speedind/driving recklessly with a busload of HS kids (40+ on watkins lake rd. through the neighborhoods) and filed a written complaint and nothing was done. I routinely see Waterford SD drivers speeding, tailgaiting and pulling out in front of oncoming traffic, apparently they will hire anyone and don't do anything to monitor the driving. Will it be your child who is killed or injured?
I'm inclined to agree with you (Randy) on that. I see those drivers on cell phones and everything all the time. At least I know that I made the problem known to obviously quite a few people so when something does happen, the school district won't be able to hide from their own mistakes.
I called just last month about a bus driver, 'flying' down Saginaw Trail. To catch up and get the bus number, I had to drive 45mph. I called the bus garage and have not noticed the problem repeating itself.
