My three year old was almost hit by a pickup truck today while we were crossing Pacific on 30th going away from the beach. The pedestrian crossing sign was lit for us to go, and this driver hit the gas to make a left turn in front of us. I always check when the sign lights up to make sure nobody is running a light, but he hit the gas and came so quickly. I almost saw my daughter killed because he was in too much of a rush. When I yelled at him that we had a crossing signal, he pointed to his green light (NOT a green left turn arrow) indicating that WE were in the wrong. There needs to be better signage (maybe a flashing yellow arrow like on First Colonial and Old Donation or a large sign telling left hand turns must yield to pedestrians). This is the second time this has happened to me, and it’s happened twice to my mom. this has to be happening daily. Pedestrians are going to be killed because of careless drivers.
