  • Tree Destruction Archiviert
Arctic Ave & 34th St Virginia Beach, VA, 23451, USA - Northeast
I think it is disgraceful that the City of Virginia Beach will allow the destruction of numerous grand Oak Trees on 34th Street and Arctic. I understand that rules and regulations as it pertains to what is on ones property are not in the City’s purview , but these tress well over 100 years old had canopies that extended out over into the right of way. They created shade, helped enhance the neighborhood and help with resilient storm water control. If the City has no control over this natural resource, then they need to fix this from happening again to the neighborhood rich with many mature tress. The City is spending over $1.0 million to have an Oceanfront management company pick up trash, but what about the neighborhood, 2 blocks away.

Trash bins and grease containers overflow over the weekend, on a major sidewalk in the heart of the Oceanfront Commercial area affecting residence and tourists. I understand these businesses may not have any other options for the bins, but this is most unsightly and hazardous with grease all over the sidewalk. Please help them find another solution
  • Street Light Archiviert
38th St Virginia Beach, VA, 23451, USA - Northeast
recently someone reported a street light out at a school bus stop on 38th st, and Pacific It is still out and further all street lights are out from 36th to 40th and Pacific are out. Very dark for early crossing

At the beach access, the sand is not only clogging the drains around the shower, the surrounding pavement is depressed enough to collect sand not allowing it to get to the drain. After the summer season, the sand around the drain is not only unsightly but has become molded and is a bio Hazard. In reviewing other showers in the area, this one is the worst!

There is a poorly drained sidewalk area on the handicap ramp to the newly erected cross walk at the SE corner of 34th and Pacific. Water continually ponds, I presumed from the sprinkler system adjacent. This will be a public safety issue in the winter when it will freeze. Contractor who installed the new ramps should repair.
  • Traffic Sign Anerkannt
34th St & Pacific Ave Virginia Beach, VA, 23451, USA - Northeast
A pedestrian yield sign was flattened at a cross walk on Pacific. This could have been me as a pedestrian I cross this crosswalk everyday with my dogs. This is a public safety issue on Pacific as traffic does not stop. The speed limit should be reduced to 25 mph, and make 4 way stops every few blocks to control the speed, before a person is run down

I am looking for a response to having a street sign at 33 1/2 st and Arctic and Holly
  • 404 33 1/2 Street Virginia Beach, VA - Northeast
I recently moved into a single family house on 404 33 1/2 St. It seems to be considered an alley. I request you promote it to a street by posting the street sign 33 1/2 St. at the intersections of Arctic and at Holly,as similar signs on 34 1/2 st and Arctic.
