Sharraxaadda
We need permission from the Town to remove dead branches from the Tree Warden "condemned" Town tree located on the grassy strip abutting the street directly in front of our home. Several years ago after I inquired from the Town Attorney the Town's liability if the dead branch fell from the tree and damaged one of our cars the Tree Warden nailed a condemnation notice on the tree. Nothing has been done since then.
My wife and I wish to hire a tree pruning service, at our own expense, to remove all of the tree's dead branches and then have the Town pick up the branches. We are not unmindful of the challenges presently facing the Town in the wake of the profound tree and property damage done by the recent storm. We believe our solution would allow the Town to better direct its resources to help citizens more in need than we are and eliminate the possibility of Town liability associated with the branch falling on a person or property.
