Leaves, brush, and garbage have caused a dam in the Wilmot Brook behind my house. The dam has caused large amounts of water in my backyard and basement. Please remove to prevent further damage to my property. Thank you in advance.

thank you for taking the time to bring to our attention the dam caused by the built up of debris in the Wilmot Brook. Unfortunately, we can not go onto private property.
It is the homeowners responsibility to keep clear any waterway or culvert that passes through a private property. Therefore it is the responsibility of the homeowner to take care of this problem.

I am the homeowner. According to the Town of Hamden Assessor Maps, the brook is not a part of my property. Please advise on the next steps I should take to have this issue resolved.
