Description

For the Board of Health. Geese feces covering Windsor Ave in front of Fosters pond is a serious health threat to the community. I've seen children walk over the feces barefoot. Our yard is also covered with feces. Health threat is:1. bacteria like E. Coli, campylobacteria jejune, chlamydiosis, Listeria, etc. 2. viruses like avian influenza, encephalitic, etc. 3. parasites such as cryptosporidium, giardia cysts, etc. plus 4. fungus like histoplasmosis which can spread spores airborne. I recently developed a bacterial infection and am receiving medical treatment. It could have been caused by geese feces or tick related. Testing not complete. I've heard Lynn has successfully dealt with this issue at Flax pond by placing beacons in the water to deter Geese population. Please help find a solution for our neighborhood. Thank you, Ken Johnson
