Just hoping to get a trash can outside of Deja Brew. The owner must have issues with people putting dog poop bags in her trash, because she has signs all over her trash cans saying not to use them.
A lot of people walk their dogs in Westville, and there are very few trash bins to dispose of dog poop. This would be a very convenient spot and eliminate issues for the neighborhood coffee shop.

To be fair a lot of people walk their dogs here because of the neighborhood coffee shop. It's not the worst idea for the business to take on the responsibility themselves for their customers.
I would not walk my two dogs this way if I was not a customer of the coffee shop. Not sure it's the government's responsibility to provide a can here in a residential neighborhood.

Never stated Deja Brew should provide the trash can.... I'm actually saying the opposite. Please read the post before closing it.
There is a trash can on the corner of Edgewood + Central where no businesses operate retail. There is also a trash can outside of Westville Quality Market I'm assuming for neighborhood convenience.
I don't think it's that odd to request a trash can in an area where clearly the owner is having a problem. There is also a school right across the street that I assume accumulates trash. If the city wants to close the issue and deny it, go ahead.

I don't think it is an unreasonable request. I just know that trash pickup has ongoing costs and the bins cost about $1,000. It's a lot cheaper for the private business to provide the receptacle if they are already paying a private hauler.
