I came down Lane Street yesterday and one of the prostitutes was sitting in the park on the table. The park has long been a hangout for the hookers and their druggie friends. And now that it is fixed up and has great equipment for the children, it seems like the low lifers get to enjoy it more. I don't know the solution. Maybe we could just focus on fining them for throwing the trash out. Up at my vacant lot, I just keep picking the trash up. Right now someone has stolen the nicest of the two benches I had put out and someone else pulled up 10 of the 12 petunias planted next to the benches. I'M NOT GOING TO STOP TRYING TO MAKE IT A NICE PLACE TO LIVE. If they throw down the trash, I will keep picking it up. Thanks to Chelsea for watching out and reporting.

Let's clean this up. There's no excuse for the City to let a playground where kids hang out be inhabited by drug dealers and prostitutes, nor trashed when they just spent money to fix it up. It needs to be monitored more closely.

It shouldn't be up to the taxpayers to keep cleaning a park where the residents who use it don't keep it up. We all have a responsibility as citizens to keep our own parks neat. Get with your neighbors and make it happen.

But I agree, the lack of RPD patrols everywhere across this city is becoming noticeable.
