Although this person has scaled back his feeding operation, he still leaves plastic plates out on the ground w/food at night. This draws in the rodent population which is still bad between the homes, please notify him to stop completely. Thank you kindly...

12/10/15 This "neighbor" has NOT stopped feeding the animals...!! Somehow rats that are attracted to the food he puts out at night, have managed to get into my attic and several have died up there leaving an absolutely horrible odor in my home...!! This neighbor has been given an oral warning from Officer Irish Gardner of the Hollywood P.D. enforcement and he has ignored the warning. What will it take for this person to stop and respect his next door neighbors(2 homes are affected)...? Thank you for your help in this matter.

This problem is ongoing and has NOT been solved yet. I talked w/Officer Irish Gardner who had given this homeowner a verbal warning about feeding the rodents. The homeowner lied to Officer Gardner and told him he was no longer feeding "as many" rodents as he was previously. I was outside last night and counted 23 rats within 5 minutes that were feeding on the thousands of sunflower seeds this homeowner has thrown on the ground. Why is this homeowner allowed to cause a hazardous health issue such as this...? Maybe his neighbors will have to remedy this situation in court, that seems to be the next alternative.

This "neighbor" has thousands of sunflower seeds, pounds of bird feed, wet cat/dog food just laying out on the ground and on plastic plates to attract animals!(behind his house in the garbage can area) Rats, Squirrels, Birds, Raccoons, Opossums, Cats, etc.
Since the verbal warning from the enforcement officer, Irish Gardner, he has ramped the feeding back up to what he used to do. The dozens of rats that scurry all over the wooden slat fence and into adjoining neighbor's attics and crawl spaces is a health hazard which has not been addressed by the City of Hollywood... Why not...? This has been going on for well over a year without relief. The next remedy is in court.

This neighbor has now threatened me because I used a blower this afternoon to blow all the sunflower seeds back on his side of the wooden slat fence. When he puts out the seeds, he not only scatters them all over the ground but also puts seeds on the 2"x4" slat in between the fence. Every afternoon there are hundreds of seeds laying on the ground on my side. I have watched at night as dozens of rats scurry down the fence line and race down to the ground to eat the scattered seeds. Early this evening I had a dinner guest over who was grilling out back. I was in my kitchen and heard a loud commotion outside. When I walked out back my neighbor was sweeping the seeds back towards my side of the fence as he was ranting and cussing at my guest. My guest politely said he didn't do anything and didn't know what the guy was talking about. I walked up and said, "I blew the seeds back over to your side..." He started cussing at me and told me, "I'm going to beat your a**!!" I replied, "that as long as he kept throwing the seeds over to my side, I was going to keep blowing them back over, so get used to it." He kept cussing and told me, "You picked the fight with the wrong guy, just wait and see what happens!!" I told him, "So sue me and I'll see you in court." My guest was a little flustered at the way this guy kept threatening me and suggested we go inside to diffuse the situation. The guy kept saying, "You wait and see what happens, a**h***!!" "This is just the beginning!" I told him, "That's okay, I have two witnesses here that heard you threaten me with bodily harm..." With that my guest, my roommate and I turned and went inside. This guy seems unhinged, like he's going to snap on somebody!
When will the City of Hollywood do something about this situation...? Please help, thank you...

The City of Hollywood refuses to acknowledge or do anything about this situation. What happens when this unhinged "neighbor" snaps on somebody and creates a situation where police are called in for this guy going crazy...? He has now started throwing sunflower seeds all over the ground on the North 11th Ave. area of his fence. Once again, I have witnessed rats crawling down the fence at night to eat all the seeds that are on the ground. I will keep blowing the seeds back over to his side of the fence since the City ignores the problem, I have no other alternative. Rats have crawled up into my attic and died in the last couple days and the smell in my home is disgusting to say the least!! Why is this complaint board up here if nothing is done about local problems...?

This is so past absurd that this is still ongoing, why hasn't the City of Hollywood Enforcement approached this guy to have him stop putting out all the feed for the rats...? This site will be a record to show that the City has neglected to react to this problem and has been negligent in enforcing health code laws which affect it's citizens...
