Description

I noticed a sinkhole on the east side of Rte 78 & south side of Westerly-Bradford Rd. It looks like it could cause damage behind the bridge abutment with stormwater runoff.

The sinkhole has not been repaired; in fact there is a major abutment project underway on this very bridge. If the water continues to pour down behind the new concrete work, won't it undermine the public-funded repairs to the bridge?

There is no change to the sinkhole and exposed conduit. However, repairs to abutments are on-going and the engineers may see the sinkhole above their work area.
