Without using the roadway due to the lack of shoulder and sidewalk, there is no easy way to travel the 2 miles from Kingstowne, VA, or any of the other closer neighborhoods. On S. Kings, removing a piece of the guard rail, adding a crosswalk , more signage and adjusting the curbs would allow easier access, to the path at the south end of the park.
