    The vacant lot with the abandoned and graffiti-covered "market" continues to act as a dump site. It is now adorned with a burned-out vehicle. Perhaps the City of Oakland has designated this spot as a model project intended to illustrate urban ills? Why can't something be done?

    There is an abandoned property at the corner of 12th Street and 4th Avenue. It consists of a hastily constructed "market" (a group of shacks) that lasted a few days and was closed. Now it consisted of empty structures and is beginning to be covered with graffiti. The young men from the adjacent property use it for drug dealing, car storage and other questionable activities. Thank you for investigating this problem.
