    The two Norway Maples beside the street are in bad enough shape that I now think they should be removed They were never a great choice to put right under utility lines and so have been trimmed around them Before this spring they had many dying branches and lots of sun scald This spring's heavy ice and then snow storm caused significant damage to the remaining branches

    Tree removal residue

    A street-side tree was removed (in Feb.) and the stump was just ground. There is now a three-foot high pile of chips. Will the city clean this up? Is it my responsibility to clear away the debris/level the site? (If it is mine, how much material should be left to settle into the hole? Six inches above the surrounding area?)
