Glendale is absolutely hell on earth; dangerous, ugly, polluted, this is literally where the 2 freeway vomits onto the people of Echo Park. For those who do not drive, adjacent Alvarado street is the only convenient connector to Northeast Los Angeles for the majority of people living in Echo Park, Silver Lake basically everywhere southwest of the 5. There was city talk of removing parts of the freeway and calming traffic but no clue where that has gone beyond ridiculous development talks.

Many recent developments on this issue, strangely, as if my bringing it up here made it magically manifest in the world...weird.
MTA, LADOT, and CALTRANS have all been mobilizing to do something with $12million dollars set aside to improve the SR2 terminus. MTA said a month ago they supported residents plans for a traffic calmed, park lined, multimodal project, but then reneged under pressure from LADOT when LADOT freaked out and started screaming "NO MAN! NO! MORE CARS GOD DAMNIT! I SAID MORE CARS! DON'T YOU KNOW I'VE GOT AN ADDICTION! DON'T MESS WITH AN ADDICT ON A 60 YEAR BINGE CAUSE HE WILL CUT YOU! HE WILL CUT YOU IN HALF LIKE A SPEEDING ESCALADE ON A DARK STREET ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF DOWNTOWN!" and then started foaming at the mouth as everyone watched in horror; read more below...

On the non-magic side: I did just create a watch area for your councilman and he will receive an alert about this issue.
Good luck with getting that freeway removed. Can you ask them remove the one near my house in New Haven too?
