HCA is Harsimus Cove Association, the neighborhood where 8 Erie is located. We have been fighting for more than eight months on this issue. The DCNA is the Downtown Coalition of Neighborhood Associations, a group of all the neighborhood associations in the downtown JC area (the Village, the PAD, Van Vorst, Paulus Hook, Hamilton Park and Harsimus Cove). JCRA is an autonomous agency, it is headed up by Cruz now, I believe.

Thanks for the insights. I am still not sure why or how Brunelleschi managed to get spots (~ 5 car parking spaces) for one month (Jan 9 - Feb 7) on Bay Street in the name of 'Deliveries'. I have not seen or heard a delivery at all. Just regular cars parked there and maybe one contractor pickup.

The contractor is not allowed to park personal vehicles in any of those spaces. If they are, snap a pic of it and post here and we will get the parking authority after them.

Eric, I'm bit sure that is true. Althea told me no personal vehicles before the we were aware f the JCRA agreement. But seeing that the city isn't interested in providing that agreement, we are left to wonder.

Their headquarters is around the corner from me. The father , Alphonse , is very approachable. The son less so. Like, pretty rude. They probably have nowhere to park their vehicles, or no parking permits for your area. Patricia Wilson sells the no parking signs at the authority. To their credit Alphonse bought a very nice covered bus waiting area for us outside his headquarters.

Mary, Anthony said he wanted to keep the shoulder open to pedestrians. He did that. But because the barrier was inferior and we asked the City to look into it, they ended up closing the shoulder down to pedestrians completely. Since the City has closed the shoulder to pedestrians, Brunelleschi is simply exercising their right to park there as stipulated by an agreement between Brunelleschi and the JCRA. So I don't blame Brunelleschi for parking there now.

Thanks for the comment about including Mary. I had sent her an email regarding the Bay Street No Parking for 'Deliveries' on Thursday. No deliveries were made today, just car and pickup parking.

I know about the agreements that were made when the development started. I wish someone from the City would followup periodically though as they no longer need the sidewalk blocked off - sidewalk behind the fence is all clear except for the Brunelleschi truck parked there. It bothers me when I see someone with a child crossing Erie (or worse yet, walking on Erie) to get to 'Three Little Birds' or 'Toricos' because the sidewalk is blocked. It is worse with the snowy streets too. Anyway, agreement, I get it.

Closing issue. Sadly, the Jersey City Parking Authority is not the most truthful agency. Their director stood in front of the Harsimus Cove Association meeting in February 2014 and said the parking authority does not issue permits for contractor parking . . . yet they don't think twice about issuing No Parking for 4 WEEKS for "deliveries" and they never respond to emails.
