Can we please get some noise enforcement in Fair Haven? There's a green, 2-door Honda hatchback, CT plate 584-XJK that refuses to play music at a civilized tone, to say the least; music is always blasting from this car as it drives around Fair Haven, at all hours of the day and night. It is garaged at 273 Chatham St.

I have call the NHPD and the responds that i got got from them was the Officers on patrol in New Haven doesn't have the Sound-level meter, so there is no way that they can measure the level of sound.
It seems to me that there is two solutions to this problem.
1. The city buy the Sound-level meter for the Police to use.
2. Change the Noise Control Ordinances and measure it by distance.
I also liven in Fair Haven and have been complaining for some time about this problem from cars driven around with the noise so loud my wall shake.
Here is a link,
Just put noise in the search box.

The NHPD does indeed have decibel meters, but they wouldn't even have to be using them to know when a boom-car is entirely too loud. I pay an absurd amount in property taxes to have to deal with this obnoxious behavior on a daily basis whenever the weather is warm.

Thank you for the link. I stand corrected in what I said earlier in my post, I was just repeating what I was told when I called NHPD.
I agree with you 100% when you say the we (pay an absurd amount in property taxes to have to deal with this obnoxious behavior on a daily basis whenever the weather is warm.) The only thing I see my taxes paying is for weekly trash removal and bad plowing during snow storms.
I might also add that this is the same group of people that are speeding on our streets.

M8d, Good afternoon. Thank you for posting your concern.
The officers who patrol our area have indeed stepped up their enforcement regarding traffic. From speeding violations, to seat belt checkpoints etc..
Just a week or two ago they had two checkpoints on Chapel and another on Ferry Street. The Ferry Street Block Watch who is very active has even noticed the presence on Ferry and the surrounding side streets. Is there much more to do? Of course. But year to date traffic violations have almost tripled in our area because of their efforts enforcing traffic matters. This and other issues are discussed monthly at our neighborhood management team which is held the 1st Thursday of the month at the police sub-station at the intersection of Clay and Blatchley. Please feel free to join us as we discuss these issues with police reps and other residents
