I've been curious if they *were* going to remove the poles or not. The one in front of my house has other utilities on it that need to be moved to the new pole. I'll try AT&T. Thanks.

If the pole is not a hazard, it seems they are not in any hurry to get it removed. We will ask Public Works to follow-up with Duke Energy.

It's appreciated..any leverage the city can pull. There are half a dozen spots that look like this on our street....and the mud just washing into the sewer runoff....AT&T is negligent in not moving forward. Please stay on top of them. Thx!

Duke Energy states that the older poles are owned by AT&T. Phone facilities are still attached to these. Call AT&T at (877) 737-2478 to provide specific locations of where these poles remain. We have also notified them.

yea...that was not the smartest comment there City....sorry, but all of us on the street have known it's AT&T (the pole owner) - since the first thread. The problem is that with the 800# you provide...AT&T can't/won't do anything...as there is no 'service request' in.

SO - THE CITY, WHICH OWNS THE LAND THE POLES ARE ON - NEEDS TO GET THE Public Works Director (Mr. Dawson) to LEAN on AT&T...and get their act together, to get the poles, which are now going on 6 months - out of the way. BEFORE THE NATIVES go after the poles with Chain Saws. Clear as mud?

Please continue to have PW push AT&T into cleaning up their mess...and remind AT&T that those poles are on 'borrowed' property. Thank you.

Public Works has notified AT&T again.

A representative from AT&T was going door to door on Hanover Street today and told me that the poles were added for AT&T's fiber optic service, called Uverse. It is being activated in this area now. He said normally they don't add new poles but the existing poles must have been too old.

So now it seems we need to ask Duke/Progress and TWC to move *their* lines to the new AT&T poles and remove the old poles. Strange happenings.

still keep getting the run-around. Poles haven't been removed. Someone might be inclined to get an old beater and run them down...

The Public Works Department has advised: We have notified AT & T. It is is out of our jurisdiction for AT&T’s response time.
