Descrição
At around 8AM this morning, a driver of a City of NH landscaping truck (looked like a leaf blower - plate was "673 NH"), turned right on red (from Orange to Grove), and narrowly missed a pedestrian in the crosswalk. When the pedestrian protested, the driver called the pedestrian a 'Fat f*ck'.

Have you tried calling this in to the authorities? The police should investigate and see if the incident was caught on camera.
This is an assault.

If the driver turned right on red, Anonymous was crossing on red.

Let's not get dramatic.
The fact is , if the police we're called, as a dispute between 2 parties, both would be arrested.
There are two sides to every story, so don't assume on persons posting is gospel truth.

Wow! See Click Fix works!
I posted this as a third-party observer. I was not the one crossing the street. The pedestrian was crossing on a WALK sign from north to south on Orange and the driver was turning right, from Orange to Grove, on red, thus illegaly. The pedestrian was a rather heavy-set man, and was completely in his rights to be crossing on the walk sign.
I don't think it merits police action, but if I were the driver's supervisor, and saw this unfold, I would fire him.

Many people who drive in this city need to re-take driver's ed, and maybe a refresher course on laws and safety. A pedestrian always has the right of way- no matter what. Especially if they are crossing in a cross walk or corner to corner.
Also, what are the chances this driver had his turn signal on, so the pedestrian knew the driver was turning? We are not psychic you know. I get yelled at by drivers who don't put on their turn signal- so I start to cross thinking the driver is going straight, cuz apparently I'm supposed to know they are turning!

Thank you. According to public responses to local elected officials, there are no camera feeds available at this time and Town Green has confirmed it was not one of their vehicles.
If there had been physical injury, further investigation would have been pursued. Local authorities have been made aware of this - if you happen to see the offending driver again, please take note of date/time and circumstances here.
Please feel free to reopen the issue for discussion if you think that there is a proposed fix (e.g., further investigation into who the offender might be).
