Description
Rt 155 is being repopulated! There are currently 5-6 newer residentials areas and new buildings coming in on Delatour and Rt 155. This is also the route taken by the Shaker buses and youngsters are walking to school along this road or waiting for buses at peak traffic times. The road is too narrow to accomodate all the traffic and the volume of cars trying to get in or out of roads leading to residences with no turnoffs to accomodate this. Plus the condition of this two lane road is poor to say the least. Many use this shortcut to Wvlt/Menands/Alb as the 19st area is STILL under construction!

Watervliet-Shaker Rd. (155) needs to be widened to create turning lanes at the Delatour intersection. There should have been provisions for this at the time Shaker Pointe at Carondelet was approved.
Commuters speeding along 155, Delatrour and East Hills Blvd. is a definite problem that needs to be addressed. I see an occasional (Town of Colonie) speed trap on East Hills Blvd., but they seem to choose times (like 2 p.m.) when commuters aren't creating a problem. I'd love to see a couple of stop signs and/or speed bumps there.

Every work day I travel Delatour to 155 to get down to Menands where I work. Now with the schools opening and bus traffic added to the frey it will be even more difficult to get in and out onto 155. No stop lights to ease the traffic flow other than the one at Delatour. Now with the new housing added which will probably be for senior citizens it will only add to an already dangerous situation. Where was the planning commission when they came up with plans for Carondelet?
