We will conduct a preliminary traffic assessment to determine what type of traffic control is warranted at this intersection. The preliminary assessment will also help identify if a more in-depth study is required. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks for the preliminary study to be completed.

awesome. I've seen traffic backed up and gridlocked at various times of day and week, and regardless of construction happening down ravine road.

A traffic light will not fix this problem. There are traffic lights down the road and because they are not synchronized and also due to the fact that this is the only road going to Hoboken in this area we have New York ave blocked during rush hours. This should be solved by both Jersey City and Hoboken working together on this problem. Building a road directly to Jersey City skipping Hoboken could be one of solutions. Act asap until it's too late and everything is built up by rentals!

The JCMUA will be repaving this intersection and constructing improvements when the New York Avenue project is completed this summer. The Department will be providing the JCMUA with recommendations to enhance safety of all users at this intersection. The traffic and transportation team members have collected traffic volume data and observed traffic conditions at this intersection with residents multiple times. A recommendation for improvements will be provided.

This intersection has been redesigned including the designation of a multi-way STOP configuration. Once PSE&G has finished the gas main work and the intersection is repaved, the new configuration will be implemented.

I will be pulling all requests for making this intersection safer. Pulling all of these issues into one, helps us review all of the issues for the area; gives a bigger impact to see all of the comments and suggestions; and allows us to update everyone in a single place.
