Description
well here we are 100 days with no resolution of the signage problem along the waterfront regarding bicycles vs. pedestrians! yesterday another incident occured with two elderly women walking their small dogs and a cyclist ! verbal abuse to innocent people simply walking, enjoying some fresh air is not right! it's time to ban bicycles from the WALKWAY between the marina and mare island causeway in the interest of public safety. October, 2012 my dog was run over by a speeding cyclist requiring over $1.000 of medical from his vet.this is when i first addressed this ongoing problem! i guess a major lawsuit by an elderly person being struck and knocked to the ground is the only thing that will get action in this city! step up, create a safe place for seniors to walk, free of the dangers of speeding bicycles! my next step is to get local news media involved to bring the city of vallejo to open their eyes!

I recently received an automatic notification from SCF that 180 days had passed since I first expressed concern about aggressive bicyclists riding on the sidewalk -- on a street that has a clearly marked bike lane -- abusing and harassing pedestrians who in many cases are elderly and infirm, or conversely young and small, or accompanied by small pets.
I did not bother to respond to that notification. By its very existence, a notification that nothing has been done in 180 days to resolve a life threatening problem, is statement enough that neither Vallejo City Government nor management care a fig about the threatened pedestrians, and have no intention to take action to protect them.
Similarly, I have concluded that expecting any response from Vallejo law enforcement is similarly pointless. Beyond their own pay and benefits, it seems our "public safety" employees care only about the headline issues of "national security", and "the war on drugs", which both give them justification to demand more money for military-style arms, and other technological toys.

I have requested the installation date from our Maintenance staff, and will forward as soon as I hear from them.
If there are no reports to VPD, they will have no reason to go out and no ability to question/detain anyone who fits the description provided in citizens reports. Larger signs in combination with the reported incidents provides the ability for VPD to respond and enforce the signage in place.

Bicyclists are consistently the most self-obsessed and abusive road users. Always ready to criticize motorists for aggressive behavior, they happily ignore the rights of other road and sidewalk users. Bicyclists openly ignore traffic lights, crosswalks, and even one-way streets.
Mare Island Way has both sidewalks and bike lanes. The only sensible solution to these conflicts is to enforce the separation, banning bicycles from sidewalk, citing and fining those who break the rules.

Huge numbers of seniors walk at the waterfront,go down there and talk to some people about their issues with bicyclists speeding past them! Ban bikes and scooters!

Guess we're all just wasting our time. Here's a suggestion to clear up this and other issues. Let's post...
"this issue still l has not been resolved in any way! "
... on every currently open Vallejo See.Click.Fix issue, and shut the whole thing down!
