Opis
As you travel southbound on 5th Street, crossing over E Byrd Street, the left lane is supposed to be left turn only, with the right lane continuing straight onto 5th towards Tredegar. The left turn only is not very clear, & every morning someone goes straight. This is a high-volume road as MWV & Federal Reserve are located there. Accident waiting to happen.

This situation requesting safety enhancements at 300 Blk S 5th Street S/B - left turning lane has been formally reported to Richmond Traffic Engineering Mgmt (20020888830 ) so that proper inspection, consideration and handling can take place accordingly. Because of time that may be involved with this request, updates or follow up can be conducted by dialing the Richmond Customer Care Center at 804-646-7000

9/23/2013 - Thanks so much for your communication Bill. Resubmit to Traffic Engineering Mgmt Team (20020918465 (CW#-211088)) has taken place asking them to please elaborate on what was performed here. Also, it was reiterated that this request was made in an attempt to increase safety by clearly marking the turning lane as turning with pavement markings/signage and the straight-ahead lane as straight ahead with pavement markings/signage

Cars in turn lane 1 do not turn and proceed to turn lane 2.
A potential solution would be a barrier that prevents traveling straight through the intersection from turn lane 1.
