Description
This intersection should have a traffic signal tied to the existing traffic signal or the Gilbert Road should be diverted to the oppsite side of the Stewart's shop so creates a
standard 4 way intersection with a single traffic light.

Sometime a simple traffic signal can do the job and still keep the cost down. I sure they are not cheap either. Still something should done with these intersections. Traffic is getting worst .

We travel this road almost daily, and the intersection of Gilbert Rd and Lake Ave (29)provides us with tense moments almost every time we use it. Right now, the bushes need to be trimmed so that you can see to the east when you are on Gilbert. In our opinion the best solution would be a round-about which would also include Weibel Ave. The next best option would be to re-route Gilbert behind Stewarts and line it up with Weibel so it can utilize the same traffic light. Two lights that close together with that amount of traffic doesn't seem to be viable option.

This road was not designed to carry all of the traffic it now does. It was a little country lane going through a low wetland and has no shoulders and pits out easily with freeze/thaw under the now heavy use. It is not safe to ride a bike or walk with limited sight distance, especially in the summer with the tall grasses that grow close to the road.
The other end of Gilbert is hazardous also with Meadowbrook coming into 9P, again with a lot of confusion with turns and right of way.
I think it's irresponsible of the city, county, state (all of who have administration over the routes that intersect at Lake Ave/Gilbert/Weible/9P, AND STEWARTS to allow this situation to continue. The business attracts a LOT of traffic, making the intersection on both Lake and Gilbert even more hazardous with customers trying to exit. There is a great deal of turning confusion and high speeds with travelers trying to beat the light.
It is all of their responsibility to make these intersections safe for travelers and customers as well. There have been far too many tragedies and accidents, and it will only to continue to get worse as more people take up residence on Weible.
