I think it should be flashing non-morning rush hour.

During rush hour you will end up with a very long line of cars turning right on NH or on Randolph from Sherwood Forest.

The initial post contains the reason for the reguired right turn on green arrow at this intersection.
It was DOT's solution to prevent cut-through traffic to New Hampshire Ave as well as to Randolph Road (via Sherwood Forest Drive).
In addition, traffic circles were placed to slow traffic along this section of Notley and to further deter large vehicles from using this road. I believe these circles have since been removed.

Why should traffic be prevented? The roads are for everyone. Waiting to turn is time- and energy-wasting and also pollutes.

If the problem is too much drive through traffic, get rid of the right hand turn light and discourage traffic by having stop signs at every road on Notley, and the crossing traffic has right of way. This way, Notley is a residential road, to much of a pain in the neck to use as a go through to New Hampshire, and you don't have Bonifont being backed up by traffic waiting to get on Notley.

I agree. I would love to see this arrow gone.

I understand wanting to cut down traffic during peak hours, but why not a flashing red arrow after the morning rush?
There hasn't been a traffic study there since after the ICC was completed.

In response to NotleyIsntYours: It's not yours either, honey. My taxes help pay for that road that you want restricted to only your privileged families and special snowflake children. If you want that road to yourself so badly, then you can pay for snow removal, hydrant maintenance, pot hole maintenance, resurfacing, re-striping, etc. yourself. If, however, you expect the county to maintain that road, you should be amenable to a more common sense solution.

Is there a county agency that we can write to? Seems the majority (including myself) thinks this red light is a waste of time, we should do something about it. If that red light is not for safety reasons, it should be removed. Trying to prevent (or slow) drivers from using a public county road is wrong. Unfortunately, I see cars ignoring that red light all the time. So is it really helping?
