Yes... lets put a stop sign or a traffic light at any street that intersects with Circular....
If you want a stop sign put it at a busier intersection like York and Circular at the top of the hill. It doesn't not make any sense to put it at North when that street is minor.

I'm out of town right now so can't look at the speed awareness device Rick mentions. Was it at the High Rock end or at Lake?
Seems to me the speed worst offenders are people coming up the hill oddly enough... trying to get their jollies out before they hit in town traffic. If the device is 40 yards north of Lake it would probably catch quite a few scofflaws.

Ok, thanks CJ.
My wife and I contacted Chris Mathiesen's office after he became public safety commissioner and were referred to the police department. My wife talked to a deputy police chief who said that a stop sign wasn't an "appropriate" solution and they would investigate the problem and try dealing with it in "other ways". Maybe the traffic counter down by High Rock is one of these ways. If you're not satisfied with what is happening you could contact the Public Safety department as well as posting here....

It's been 2 1/2 years so I thought I'd write an update, which is that nothing's changed. No traffic control devices and lots of speeding drivers. I try to make eye contact with them unsuccessfully when they're barreling down the street and I'm getting in my car. Seems like they are unaware it's a residential neighborhood.
By comparison, the other day I was on Sand Hill Road in Colonie and needed to get to Central. Google Maps had me turn onto a street called Mordella, a residential street. There were speed bumps down the street to keep this unwanted traffic from endangering the neighborhood. If they can do it, maybe we can too.

One more year and still no improvement. I've noticed there is a woman down the street toward High Rock who apparently lives alone and uses a walker to get around. Every morning she has to slowly cross Circular with her walker to move her car on alternate parking days.
I hate to think what might happen if a thoughtless, speeding driver noticed her too late. Please, let's fix this by putting either a stop sign or speed bumps at Circular and North.
