Thank you for contacting the Department of Public Works & Parks. Please answer the following questions:
- Where does the water come from? Is it from a leak in the street, or someone's property?
- Is there an ice condition right now?
- How long has this condition existed?
Depending on the answers to these questions? I may be able to enter a work order for this request. If you need further assistance or have any questions, please contact Customer Service at 508-929-1300 or log on to our website at www.worcesterma.gov.

The water comes from the hill that extends well into Holden. There is a natural stream in the woods and the stream has apparently migrated (possibly due to the tree clearing behind Sunrise Ave).
Sunrise Ave is always wet even on the hottest driest summer days. The stream flows from the woods behind Sunrise Avenue (Bovenzi Park), flows down the hill on a vacant lot next to the first house on Sunrise Ave.
A solution would be to install a culvert or catch basin on the western side (the uphill side) of the street. The water currently is forced to flow across the street into the eastern catch basin. The water has become worse since the clear cutting of trees caused by the ALB.
Right now (1/11/12) the street does not have ice due to the warm weather we are experiencing. The DPW has been great at salting the road, but this is not a long term solution.
This condition begun in 2000 when Sunrise Avenue was built and has become worse in the recent years.

Thank you for clearing the few inches on mud (cleared on 6/9/13) that was covering the sidewalk! We still have a major water issue; water running down the hill from the Worcester Land Trust property...
Thank you City of Worcester! A storm drain was installed in the side walk to catch the stream water. The residents and travelers of Sunrise Avenue geatly appreciate the work!
