I walk by 189 Dwight Street on my way to work every morning and I have sadly watched this once lovely property deteriorate over the years. This is a unique structure unlike any other in the area. This jigsaw gothic house sports decorative details not often seen anymore. I don’t understand how the owner of this property could have let this house become so badly deteriorated. Is there nothing the city of New Haven can do to convince the owner to repair the damage before it’s too late? Or can the city convince the owner to sell the property to some one who will take proper care of it? 189 Dwight Street is an historical treasure in grave danger. Someone please do something!
