Description

Hi,

We were sad to discover this morning that a car hit one of our street trees. It lost bark and branches and is listing at about a 30 degree angle. I can't imagine it will survive. If I'm wrong and it can be given some "first aid" please do so; otherwise I expect it will need to be removed. I'd also appreciate knowing when it might be replaced as we really like our trees. Thanks!

I walk by here some evenings when taking a walk, and have been meaning to reply. You should try to straighten the tree if you can. If it survives, it will look nicer if it isn't leaning. Now would be a good time, since the ground is wet, and it might be easier to move it. Then stake it from the one side for a year, to help keep it vertical.
