The official address of the property is 1783 Ware Avenue. It is zoned R-1A (Urban Residential) which is a single family zoning district. It appears this is a non-conforming use. Boarding houses are not allowed in the R-1A zoning district. Code Enforcement can issue a citation.

08/25/16- Spoke with owner and he advises that this is not a Boarding/ Rooming house. In the past he has had issues with his tenants and they have not fulfilled the contract agreement and he has lost monies. He is trying a different approach to renting the property. In fact his tenant now has breached the contract and he has filed a court action. We will monitor the property and can check at anytime.

However, is he allowed to post this sign that is in conflict with how the property is zoned? It is not ours to have to live with his signage because he does not thoroughly vet his tenants.
