Looks like weeds to me. They are not in alignment with the rest of the plants.

The weeds are getting really bad despite my occasional weeding when I go that direction. Can the city send someone? It's already out of control.

Those are poke weed and have a long tap root. Bad . There is quite a bit of johnson grass, lambs quarters, mugwort and so forth. You can tell the good plants because they are in rows and arranged patterns. They are heuchras (caramel and green) , gold daisy like rudbeckias, a clumping grass called miscanthus, and maybe a few other things. I think probably way too much stuff to be in the same beds with new trees. but that is what landscapers like to do. I water at pershing Field and went over to see the bed today. It is not being weeded or watered. The bed with the monument to the policewoman was in especially weedy condition.

Our nice volunteer group obtained by the Pershing Field Garden Friends did a day of work on it.

We appreciate the help of the volunteer group. For future reference, please contact the Division of Parks and Forestry for weeds in City Parks.

Why should anyone be confined to calling public works about weeding and neglect of the parks by the city? Is that what you are saying? Its been my experience for years that absolutely no one listens.
