FYI. The 2nd and Erie garbage can was not actually removed. There are already cans on the same side of the street on 1st and Jersey and 3rd and Jersey (one block away). So, it was simply moved to a corner on the other side of the street one block up (where there were no existing cans) at the request of the neighborhood association.
There were also issues with people dumping household trash in it in its prior location, which is illegal.
Another reason why we need more public trash cans. If there weren't only 3-4 down all of Jersey Ave, they wouldn't be overflowing... And there isn't that much household trash being put in them to take them away.
