The City of Jersey City has determined that the sidewalk repairs are the responsibility of the property owners. Working with Councilman Fulop to have city issue a summons.
This is an example of bad city planning. Because the city allowed the developer to put a wall along Manila, the property owners don't take ownership of their sidewalk. Not only does this affect the sidewalk repair but also snow removal and street tree care -- and it's an ugly besides. We should keep this in mind for future developments.
I should add that one of our board members has challenged the city's assessment of responsibility and the discussion is ongoing. We'll provide an update at the next Harsimus Cove Association meeting on October 8.

You're right. This is a dead zone.
