Thank you for contacting the City of Ann Arbor regarding your concerns for parking on Jefferson Court.  Residential handicap parking spaces are installed at the request of the property owner/resident upon fulfilling the City's criteria.  These spaces are also removed at the request of the property owner/resident.

What would be the incentive to ask the City to remove the sign. This way nobody gets to park in front of your house. Could the City investigate and determine if a handicapped space is still required. Thank you.

If you leave it up to residents to call and have the parking removed, it will not happen. The tenents could have moved, their could be a death, circumstances could change and by not reporting the change, the space remains free in front of their home. Could you please follow up to see if the handicapped space is still needed? Thank you in advance.
