I strongly agree! I have seen several near misses of people trying to make the turn at the mis-aligined crossover. Also the lack of the deceleration lane is a rear end waiting to happen

I've already witnessed one accident--no injuries and no property damage fortunately--because of the lack of a turn lane on Glenwood. Seems like an easy fix.

I've referred this to our Public Works Department. I will update this issue when I have heard back from them. Thanks for reporting.

I have to agree with the concerns posted here. The way this intersection is set up encourages very dangerous turns into the park. It would seem fairly simple to fix.

I work in this park and have been using this entrance regularly for more than 20 years. I agree that it is very dangerous in either direction. I have narrowly missed being rear-ended at high speed more times than I can count approaching the turn going eastbound on Glenwood, even after applying my turn signal far in advance and slowing very gradually. I hope this gets immediate attention.

Though this section is inside the City Limits, Glenwood is a State system street. Generally the City would do a traffic study if the traffic signal is the desired outcome. Of course there is no guarantee that the signal study would result in this intersection meeting the warrants for a signal. We always follow the standard warrants in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, a national standard, as does NCDOT.

If the preferred solution is the median opening realignment, then NCDOT would take the lead. Please post here which direction you would like this one to go, and we will either initiate the signal study or give you a contact at NCDOT to work with regarding the median design.

I may be wrong but I don't think anyone ever mentions adding a trafiic signal. Realignment of the opening and providing a deceleration lane and possible an accelleration lane is what I though was desired.

I have worked in Brownleigh Business Park for the past 20 years and strongly agree that a deceleration lane is warranted on eastbound Glenwood Ave at Brownleigh Drive. The speed limit on that section of Glenwood is 45mph and slowing down to turn right onto Brownleigh Drive is dangerous. Realignment of the left-hand turn lane on westbound Glenwood onto Brownleigh Drive is also needed to make that left-hand turn safer.

This issue will be handled by the North Carolina Department of Transportation. NCDOT does not track See Click Fix issues, so we'lll close this one at this point as regards the City. We have notified NCDOT, but you should follow up directly with the District Engineer, Reid Elmore, at (919) 733-4768.
