My neighbor, across the street, had the same problem. Took him 5 minutes to resolve the situation at no charge to the taxpayer. When he put out his trash, he would check to see if the grate was clear. If debris was covering the opening, he got his broom & dustpan, swept up the debris & put it in the garbage pail. Problem solved.

I was walking on South Street and NY Ave. Sunday and saw the mess at the Drains. I'm sure the windy weather spread it all over the streets.
The point of this request is to get the new homeowners that never clean up the garbage/debris to do their part. The garbage covering the drains have an easy solution if homeowners would keep their sidewalks clear of garbage. Unfortunately most don't clean their sidewalks around here. If they did the drains wouldn't get flooded when it rains.

I concur. The reason for my post was because the complaint is usually by someone who lives right there & believes it is someone else's job to take care of something very simple to address.

Agreed. We clean in front of our house and the drain on the corner which is clogged with everyone else’s garbage, especially when it’s windy or rains. It would be nice if our neighbors would clean as well, but that doesn’t happen.
