NHPD is a sad joke.They need their hand held and strings tied to their fingers.Talk about it into the wee hours on OT, Attend community management meetings and expect entitlements before acting on ANYTHING.

I have posted several times before that parking enforcement should be patrolling all over the city, not just downtown. Watch episodes of Parking Wars on A&E - they get people for the violations that really matter, like parking at bus stops (really bad on Whalley), in handicapped spots, loading zones, and parking in driveways while blocking sidewalks, which forces pedestrians and the elderly/disabled to enter the roadway to pass the vehicle.

We have gone to this location on several occasions and will continue to do so. Is there a time frame when this occurs.

I'm concerned that this is closed. Just yesterday vans, trucks, and even motorcycles were pulling in and out of this space. Afternoons and evenings, constantly. Please do not close this issue until some signage is placed, indicating to cars that the curbcuts they are driving on are actually sidewalks.

Dispatched an officer, no vehicles found in violation tonight. We will continue monitoring the area.

The department has gone to this location and has issued violations in the past when vehicles are obstructing the pedestrian right of way. However, if parked vehicles are not obstructing the right of way and are parked on private property, which is predominantly what occurs at this location, the department cannot issue a violation. Livable Cities Initiative (LCI) can intercede, as they handle private property concerns. The department will continue to monitor this location to ensure that vehicles are not obstructing the right of way. This issue will be re-categorized to Private Property so that LCI specialists can further look into the matter. Thank you.

There is a large setback between the street and the buildings at this site. The mass of concrete looks a lot like a parking lot, and there probably could be a legitimate way to park a few vehicles without obstructing the sidewalk, if there were pavement markings indicating where to park. (there are none)

A modest improvement would be for the owner to paint some parking spots.

I would personally prefer a tall curb and grass, but there seems to be a history of off-street parking at this location, and it may be required by zoning laws.

Bollards were installed by the building owner and I believe the issue has been resolved. Is that true?
