Staff has received NCDOT volumes and pulled the crash reports and checked the sight distances from all side streets movements. The crash data showed 1 angle type crash in the last 3 year study period in which a traffic signal may have addressed. NCDOT and the City of Raleigh of Raleigh installs traffic signals when all volumetric and delay thresholds warrants are satisfied along with the crash warrants and all other possible avenues have been eliminated. At this time, staff does not recommend signalization for this location. Thank you for your concern with the safe and efficient movement of traffic.

Traffic on Jones Franklin has gotten bad enough in the past few years that I often turn right, then turn left into the next office part and turn right out of there to make a left turn. Given the volume of traffic at rush hour I often have to wait 2, 3, 4 or more minutes to make a left turn. I have learned to watch for much smaller openings than I would normally consider safe and to be willing to cut off other drivers who are not as fast on the gas as me to make my turns.
