These drivers going to the Holland tunnel are blocking the south bound traffic, and do you think they all honk as long as they can't bear to wait? yes, they all honk for E x t e n d e d periods of time. There is a posted sign one block away warning $350 fine for honking. but they do no tcare, no police around even to give a ticket for blocking the grid! It is 6 pm and this is normal for Soho residents. It is excruciatingly LOUD.

yes, I saw it too, this is my crosswalk, totally blocked, and with my two little kids I have to try to cross this! the drivers DO not care! they do NOT notice the stolller! so greedy for their own interest to get to the tunnel about a mile away, that they ignore people trying to cross the street!!!!!

Penetrating noise from drivers' honking is disturbing us all the time, particularly Friday through Sunday, and that means almost allday Saturday.

13 March 2012 at about 3:30 a driver honked 28 times in a row, about 3-4 seconds for each honk. This is Tuesday, do you think it is solved? Friday, Saturday and Sunday are worse. This is interstate drivers on residential streets, so they are slowed down, and don't they resent it. Yesterday Virginia plates, and New Jersey blocked my crosswalk despite my light, inching towards the forward car and threatening my knees.

april, 2012 still bad; good friday was honking all afternoon. the worst is how these drivers clog the crosswalk so crossing is dangerous to all pedestrians! isn't it illegal to stop using the crossing space???

October 2012 still a major problem in this area....the cars honk all afternoon, each one, many times, and they crowd the street, blocking the pedestrians dangerously.
