I don't know the Council District number, but I am quite sure it is Peter Vallone's district.

Not fixed and no reply from any local official. As near as I can tell, no responsible party has been notified. Does anyone pay attention to this site?

Sorry that it has taken so long and still no response. It has been hard for us to communicate with NYC's 311 because its a rather closed system, although there is talk of opening it up. Your City Council Member was recently notified, so hopefully he/she will take notice of this problem.

I'd recommend sharing this issue page with friends/neighbors or posting it on Facebook and other social media sites to raise more attention to the problem.

Thanks for your help, Zak. We'll see if it makes a difference. My neighbors are mostly foreign-born and elderly and not social media types. This is not the Upper Westside. Indeed, it is our status that probably explains why the City feels we can be neglected.

A year has gone by and still nothing has been done. Of course the recent winter storms have now added potholes and craters, especially between 45 and 46 Streets, that also go unattended.

But this is Queens in an ethnically diverse neighborhood that the Mayor and Council member Vallone could care less about. And now we will hear about the budget crisis as another reason why this cannot be taken care of.

Shame on NYC officials and on my neighbors who are afraid to complain.

A few of the most egregious potholes have been temporarily patched and are already eroding. Of course our numbers oriented Mayor will get to include these meager patches in reports in which he claims to have repaired ?? thousand potholes. What he doesn't count are the number of pothole patches that fall apart within 2 weeks.

This doesn't happen nearly as much in Manhattan. Shame on Queens officials for allowing its residents to be treated like second-class citizens.

Still not fixed. I am not sure which is more ineffective - city officials or this website.

Five years later, DOT finally started the repaving of 30th Avenue in Astoria. Not because Councilmember Vallone pushed for it or because I got any help from this site, but because it was on DOT's regular schedule.

30th Avenue was finally repaved.
