Thanks for reporting. I have referred this to the City’s Housing and Environmental Inspections Division. When the inspectors have had a chance to investigate I will post an update.

An inspector inspected the property on 5/16/2014 and found no violations at this time.

He did not see any trash or litter behind 202 Jones Franklin or 5125 Vann St. The poison ivy is growing in a natural area that is heavily wooded and not encroaching on the street. No violation.

Thinking about this a little more... the problem here is that the area gets packed with litter and the kids go out to pick up the little because this is not a ghetto and they come home covered in poison ivy. Isn't there something we can do about either the poison ivy or the litter? I appreciate that CoR had someone take a look and I don't know we need another visit but maybe just some guidance about how we can resolve the litter issue without the health threat.

Unfortunately if the litter does not rise to the level of a nuisance violation and the poison ivy is not in an area where it is a hazard to public sidewalks or streets there is not much we can do. Sorry.
