  • Brisbane Qld 4000 Australia - City - Remainder
The cars are all turning left, but there is no provision for bicycles going straight. Most cyclists coming out of Roma St Parklands will want to continue down Albert St toward King George Square. There should be a bike lane marked on the right-hand side of the lane, showing that bicycles will be going straight. Wouldn't hurt if there were some markings for bicycles along Albert between Turbot and Ann as well.
  • 82 Mary Ann Street Ultimo, New South Wales - Sydney - West
Going Westbound from Mary Ann St into Mary Ann St across Harris St is legal for cycles, but unexpected for cars turning right into Harris from Mary Ann St's Western half.
  • 25b Hickson Road Millers Point NSW 2000, Australia - Sydney - Inner
Corner of windmill and dalgety radius is to wide and vehicles take it to fast.
I've had four left hooks on this corner. Hit once.
  • 19-22 Charles Street Canterbury, New South Wales - Canterbury

    http://www.thecrankset.com/index.php/2014/02/04/how-to-turn-a-cycleway-into-a-dont-cycleway-in-three-easy-steps/

Council decisions have produced an artificial destruction of bicycle continuity, crippling the design of the Cooks River cycleway.

The design needs remediation by deleting the narrow artificial footpath and replacing it with an Ausroads standard width shared use path.

  • Powerhouse Road Casula NSW 2170, Australia - Liverpool - East
Another excellent cycle way implemented with a dead end gate at the Casula powerhouse. The gates block the cycle way connecting Glenfield to Liverpool and end any commute users before 8:30 am when the powerhouse opens. The south end is open access over the train line why block the north end forcing commuters onto the hume highway to bypass the block. Liverpool council put in a pedestrian and bike gate for outside office hours
  • 31 Alison Road Sydney, New South Wales - Randwick
Poor drainage design leaves sheet water on the surface for hours after rain.
  • 31 Darley Road Sydney, New South Wales - Randwick
Shared use path narrowed to one lane by design decisions in the face of constraints. Reconsider design decision if changes to Darley Road or Darley Road Shared Use Path undertaken.
  • Canterbury Rd Canterbury sydney, New South Wales - Canterbury
on bicycle path under canterbury rd. stormwater shower blocking path under roadway during rain. very strong flow and dangerous if not aware of potential hazard/danger.
  • 2 Gladstone Avenue Wollongong, New South Wales - Wollongong - Inner
The NB right hand lane in Gladstone should be right turn only. With 2 lanes able to go straight into Denison, there is a short merge with several conflicting movements - people entering and leaving car parks and businesses. There have been several near misses.
  • 72-86 State Route 7 Croydon, Victoria - Maroondah - Croydon
New bike lane segregation puts riders down a 1 metre wide chute with raised concrete edges as a lead in to a road junction, slightly down hill. On the far side of the junction the bike lane runs into a curb, and the side road (Douglas Parade) is a giveway, so motorists regularly move to block the bike lane while waiting to turn right on to Kent Avenue.
Bicyclists are moved to the worst possible defensive position, with no escape, and nowhere to go but on a collision course with a solid object. Shame on Bicycle Networks who cosulted on the design, and the design company, GTA Traffic Consultants.
  • Sydney Harbour Bridge Cycleway Millers Point, New South Wales - Sydney - Inner

The entry/exit to the SHB is extremely unsafe and causes incidents almost daily. fast moving cycles (south bound) are forced to make sharp turns amongst slow moving (north bound) cyclists, trainers and vehicles in a confined area. Issues for the north bound cyclists include sharp turns, speed humps, traffic, trainers and the ascent onto the cycle way.

The redesign of this area cannot start soon enough. There will be a serious crash here shortly

  • Kedron Brook Bikeway Brisbane QLD 4030, Australia - Lutwyche
Stormwater drains over bike path and covers it with gravel every time there is heavy rain. This is true near Montrose St (the road crossing the bridge in the photo), and at several places nearby.
Step 1: Clean up the gravel.
Step 2: Put in a check drain or something at the top of the slope, and a pipe to take the gravel and other muck under the path.
